5 out of 5 stars. We hired Ron to replace an asphalt shingle roof that was failing rapidly, with a new metal one. We needed quick work before damage worsened, and we are part time residents on the east side of the Island where contractors are hard to find. Ron and his crew returned our calls, answered our questions, arrived and did the work when promised, did a nice looking professional job, cleaned up very well after the job, and stayed on budget. We were off island during the job, but Ron kept in touch and sent photos. Contractors here typically need a large up-front payment to cover the cost of materials. Ron allowed us to pay the supplier directly to alleviate our worries about a large advance payment. Ron’s rates were not cheap, but it was worth it to us to have the peace of mind of a responsible and licensed contractor. Can’t say exactly how his bid compared with competitors as I couldn’t get more than “bubba bids” (well it’ll be around XX $) to compare to. On the mainland, Ron would be one of the better contractors in town. Here on the Big Island, he is way, way in front of the pack. Highly recommend him to anyone needing a new roof, especially if you aren’t a long-time resident with the connections to easily find a reliable local for the job.

You are reroofing the house across the street from me on Halawai St. I want to tell you that your crew is outstanding. They work really hard even in this heat. They are courteous to each other and sound like they enjoy their work. I commend you on having such a great crew. I have enjoyed watching the process and progress. PLUS, everything looks so neat. I was surprised when they used the blower on the tar paper before beginning to install the shingles. Our roof is Woodruff and still does not leak. Several years ago, my builder friend found ridge caps that match the roof and installed new ridge caps. When I get ready to reroof, Kokua Roofing will be the first place I call. BTW I saw your ad on TV. I am impressed on Fox News daytime.

We’ve been through a few light rains since the new roof job; yesterday and last night brought a huge rain storm with buckets of rain coming down. And no leaks! So, thank you guys very, very much for fixing our leaking roof problem for us. I know it couldn’t have been very cost effective for you, but it really helped us out a lot. As far as roofing work referrals go, there won’t be anyone else that we’d even consider recommending, should anyone ask us.

My wife and I bought our Hawaiian dream home in May of 2015 – quite a large house (3 stories) with an equally large and complex roof/skylight system. We wanted to get ” the best of the best” (both in terms of materials and workmanship) so we would not have to worry about roof problems and leaks for the long-term as we age. We got exactly that. The roof was installed on-time and very professionally, and each day the entire work space was cleaned and made clear of any debris which could hurt the children or damage our new landscaping (e.g., nails, pieces of wood, etc.). The crew was always professional and at all times displayed a nice appearance and demeanor. Some of the hardest working people I have ever seen on Hawaii! Needless to say, we have had a few tropical storms since the roof was installed and not so much as a small leak has developed. Nothing. The roof is water-tight and looks great. I have pretty high standards and the folks from Kokua Roofing nailed it (no pun intended!). We are very pleased customers. We highly recommend Kokua.

I want to commend and thank Kokua Roofing for an excellent job of replacing our old roof with a nice new roof. Kokua Roofing sent a large team of roofing professionals to our house and finished the job in just one day- including tearing off the old roof, replacing many termite damaged roof beams/joists, and putting the new roof on. Thank you so much for the great service and excellent workmanship. The foreman on the job, Lupe, was very diligent and even came back the next day to check the work and make minor adjustments to ensure that all the work had been done correctly. We are very pleased with our new roof, and want to thank you and commend the Kokua team for a great job!
